TRIUND TREK
Triund is a serene and alluring trekking destination. Nestled in the lap of Dhauladhar Range, 18 km from Dharamshala, it offers astonishing views of the Dhauladhar ranges on one side and the gorgeous Kangra valley on the other. Triund trek is a moderately trek, popular among adventure enthusiasts of all ages.
Triund trek route is exhilarating and super thrilling. The amazing panoramic views from the top at different times of the day – dusk, moonrise, and dawn – highlight the unique charming beauty of Triund. The trek is of only 7 kms now and one should be able to cover it up within 4 hours.
The Triund trek comprises of well-defined trails through the lush forests of green rhododendron and oak trees. So, there need not be any hassle about how to reach Triund or getting lost in the way. Hiring Guide is not necessary but make sure you complete the trek within the day time. At night its risky to trek as you may face some animals like Bear and Leopard. So be careful and start the trek by 11:00 am or 12:00 noon not later than that.
Triund trek is accessible throughout the year, except during the month January and February. Heavy snowfall during these months cut off some sections of the trekking route. The best time to visit Triund is from March to July because of the cozy weather and clear views. The weather in Triund is cool and comfortable Around the year, except for chilly winter months.
You may also visit Triund in the month October and November to experience some chilling thrill.

Ride through the forests towards Triund Base camp (8kms).Keep the cameras ready as now you will start the trek. Its advisable to start the trek by 10:00 am. Triund is a 7 kms moderate trek which can be completed within 4 – 5 hours .It is located at a height of about 2,850 metres above sea level. This peak provides a spectacular view of Himalayas, and moon peak.
Triund is situated on a ridge with a beautiful view of whole Kangra valley on one side and the Dhauladhar mountain range on the other.

Wake up in the morning and see the sun rising through various hills enjoy the peaceful environment you may meditate/ or perform yoga on the hill in the fresh air.
ChecKout from the camps in the morning after breakfast and trek back to Triund Base camp. Head back to Mcleodganj.
