Kugti Pass Trek

This is one of the most beautiful yet less explored trek in Himachal Pradesh at an altitude of 5090 mts. A strenuous climb with difficult terrains and slippery paths, makes this trek one of the most challenging treks in the Himalayan ranges. An experience in high altitude trekking is a must before experiencing this intimidating trek.

Starting from the clamoring town of Bharmour close Chamba, the twisting trails of the trek explore through thick backwoods of pine and deodar, emerald green glades, boundless extends of apple and peach plantations, spouting waterfalls and sparkling water streams. You will frequently go over shepherds with their run of sheep traveling through the sloping landscapes. Your first real stopover on the voyage would be the beautiful Kugti town from where the perspectives of encompassing valleys and the murmuring Budhil River with a background of thick pines genuinely makes for a photo postcard setting.

HOW TO REACH?

By Road:
Take bus from Delhi to Chamba. Himachal Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation operates buses to Chamba from Delhi via Chandigarh. Several private operators also apply buses on this route.

By Train:
The nearest railway station is at Pathankot. Almost all trains on the route to Jammu Tavi make a stopover at this station, from where cabs and buses can be hired to reach Chamba.

By Air:
The nearest airport is the Gaggal airport. Flights that take around one hour and fifteen minutes to half an hrs from Delhi. You can take a cab from here.

ITINERARY

Arrival at Chamba. Transfer to Bharmour by jeep. Be a part of the chaurasi mandir arti. Overnight stay at Bharmour.

Early in the morning after breakfast and taking packed lunch, move to Hadsar then Dhanaul via taxi (19kms). From Dhanaul the actual trek will start. A run of 02 -03 hrs along with Bhujla stream will reach you at beautiful & unexplored Village Kugti (5kms trek). Kugti is last village of Bharmour.

Enjoy and rest for left day in the camp.

Kugti – Dughicave (8km trek)

Dugicave to Kugti pass to Dugicave (12kms trek)

Dugi cave to Kugti village. (6km trek). Transferred to Bharmour night stay at Bharmour.

Bharmour to Chamba by jeep.
