Arrival at Dehradun Railway station, Pickup by car/Tempo (depending upon the group size), Today after arrival, leave for Sankri village (8 hours) drive from Dehradun.
The drive from Dehradun to Sankri is an enchanting drive of 8 hours stretching over 200 Km ride via Mussoorie, Naugaon, Purola, Mori, and Naitwar. You will see beautiful valleys and forests throughout your journey.
After reaching Sankri check-in to the cottages, In the evening explore this beautiful small village. Overnight stay in the cottages after Dinner.
Sankri to Base camp (6 kms)
Today after early breakfast we will pack our bags and finally get ready to trek the most awaited trek Kedarkantha, We will take a short cut directly to reach the base camp of Kedakantha trek. Today we will trek for only 6 kms ( 6 hours). After reaching the destination you can see the Kedarkantha peak the most picturesque location. Take lunch and snacks enjoy bonfire, take the pictures and make some amazing videos of this beautiful location. Enjoy sun setting from the glorious peaks, overnight stay in the tents under the billions stars.
Base camp – Summit – Base camp (06 Kms Trek)
Today is going to be the most exciting day of the trek, Today we will wake up early in the morning and start our climb to Kedarkantha peak, we will reach the summit within 3 hours, As we move forward slowly the dense forest surrounded by pine trees will slowly start to disappear. After reaching the summit you will get the 360-degree panoramic views of the Dhauladhar mountain ranges, Rupin pass, Har ki dun valley, swargrohini and bandarpoonch, Draupadi ka danda, Gangotri, Yamunotri are the other peaks that you will be able to see. Spend some time here on the Top, Later slowly move downwards towards Base camp, if we have time ( depends on the level of snow) we can move towards Juda ka Talab and stay overnight there.
Base Camp – Juda ka Talab – Sankri (6 Km Trek )
Today after breakfast start descending towards sankri village ( 3 – 4) hours. Overnight stay in the Cottages in Sankri. Spend the rest of the day exploring the village.
Sankri village – Dehradun (200km) 8 hours by drive
Today After breakfast board the cab for your journey back to Dehradun ( 8 hours).
Kedakantha summit trek is one of the best-known winter treks. It stands at an elevation of 12,500 feet above the sea level. It is located in the Uttarkashi District of Uttrakhand Also, Its an easy to moderate trek, best for beginners. The climb starts from a small village known as Sankri. There are a total of 13 peaks visible for the kedarkantha peak including bandar poonch, swargarohini, kaalnaag, Har kin dun, and yamunotri ranges. It is said that Earlier Kedarnath temple has to be built at this place but due to some reasons the construction of the temple was aborted so the temple was only built till shiva’s neck and the that is why it is popularly known as kedarkantha.
Kedar means Shiva Kantha means Neck.
